Description of RCE and Geographic Region:
The RCE is a cross-border network, covering the European regions Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.
On the one hand, the three regions are characterized by a set of common conditions and challenges, such as natural conditions as alpine mountain regions, small-scale, diverse economic structures, and historical political unity as one region. On the other hand, the space is also characterized by diversity in language, culture and lifestyles, historically grown as a link between southern and central Europe. The RCE Euregio Tyrol builds on these prerequisites and has set itself the goal of establishing “Education for Sustainable Development” as a common starting point for sustainable action in the three regions.

Goals and Objective:
Vision:
The vision of the RCE is the transformation towards a sustainable European region through education and learning, involving all stakeholders with a specific focus on local enterprises. The RCE acts as a bridge, promoting trans-disciplinary cooperation and fostering multi stakeholder networks, which interlink the business world with the world of education.
Objectives:
In the first phase the RCE focused on raising awareness for education for sustainable development and on network building.
The second phase is characterized by the development and implementation of concrete projects. That includes workshops and pilot projects on issues like Economy of the Common Good, sustainable economics and new learning. Another aim is to cooperate also on a European or international level. The RCE was partner of the Erasmus Plus project CASE and further projects will follow.
